2nd Coal Fired Powered Station Closes this year

In the state of Victoria, Australia the Loy Yang power station was shut down due to lack of demand for it's coal power. Renewable energy, mainly solar, has been surging in Victoria since the green government brought in a feed in tariff to encourage people to install solar panels on their homes in Melbourne. Also the ETS (Emissions Trading Scheme), which was introduced back in 2010, the price of coal power is now higher than solar, wind and wave power.

1 Millionth Electric Car Has Been Sold

Californian manufacturer Telsa-Toyota Motors have sold their 1 millionth electric car this week, electric car sales have been rising fast in the last couple of years, due to the abundant renewable energy available and the high cost of gasoline which last week hit $15 / gallon for the 1st time.
